§ 18-164. Application for registration of alarm systems.

  • Application for registration of a burglar alarm system or fire alarm system shall be made by a person having control over the property on which the burglar alarm system or fire alarm system is to be installed and operated or is being operated. Applications shall be filed with the chief of police and shall contain the following:

    (1)

    The street address of the property on which the alarm system is installed;

    (2)

    The name and telephone number of the occupant of the premises on which the alarm system is installed;

    (3)

    If an occupant is not the owner, the name, address and telephone number of the owner of the property on which the alarm system is installed;

    (4)

    The name, address and telephone number of two persons to be notified if the alarm system is activated. The names of the persons shall be given only if they are able and have agreed to:

    a.

    Receive notification at any time;

    b.

    Come to the site of the alarm system within one hour after receiving a request from the member of the police department;

    c.

    Grant access to the site of the alarm system and to deactivate the alarm if such becomes necessary; and

    (5)

    The name, address and telephone number of a person to be notified to render service or repairs during any hour of the day or night that the alarm system sounds.
