§ 66-72. No parking/tow-away zone designated.

  • (a)

    No parking/tow-away zones are established as follows:

    Australia Street , both sides, from its intersection with Solomon Street to its intersection with Lakeview Drive, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Congo Street , north side, from its intersection with Senate Avenue to its intersection with Equador Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Congo Street , north side, from its intersection with Senate Avenue to its intersection with Solomon Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Equador Street , west side, from its intersection with Philippine Drive to its intersection with Congo Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Hamilton Circle, both sides, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Jersey Drive , both sides, from its intersection with Lakeview Drive to its intersection with Equador Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Lakeview Drive , south side, from its intersection with Senate Avenue to its intersection with White Oak Bayou, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Meadow Lane , north side, from Jersey Drive west to the end of the street.

    Seattle Street , both sides, from its intersection with Senate Avenue to its intersection with Solomon Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Senate Avenue , both sides, between its intersection with U.S. Highway 290 and its intersection with Juneau Street.

    Shanghai Street , both sides, from its intersection with Lakeview Drive to its intersection with Equador Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Singapore Lane , both sides, from its intersection with Senate Avenue to its intersection with Solomon Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    Solomon Street , west side, from its intersection with Seattle Street to its intersection with Shanghai Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days only.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle within the no parking/tow-away zone described in subsection (a) of this section when signs are duly erected giving notice thereof.

    (c)

    The director of public works is authorized and directed to place, or cause to be placed, no parking/tow-away zone signs along the zones described in subsection (a) of this section.

    (d)

    The chief of police, or his designated representative, is authorized and directed to cause the removal and impoundment of any motor vehicle found parked within the no parking/tow-away zone described in subsection (a) of this section, in accordance with state law and the ordinances of the city.

    (e)

    (1)

    Subsections (b) and (d) of this section shall not apply to a commercial vehicle loading or unloading or parked in connection with the performance of a service, to a governmental vehicle, or to a vehicle displaying a parking permit issued under subsection (2) below for the location where parked.

    (2)

    The city secretary shall, upon application, issue a resident in a no parking/tow-away zone established by subsection (a) of this two parking permits. A parking permit issued hereunder shall designate the street address of the permittee. A person may park a motor vehicle which displays a permit issued hereunder on the street in front of the address designated on the permit.
