§ 10-41. Biting persons; penalty.

The owner of any dog or cat which bites any person, not engaged in the commission of a crime, on public property or on private property not belonging to the owner, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in section 1-8. Upon conviction for a second violation of this section, the dog or cat which for the second time has bitten a person, shall be impounded and destroyed, and the owner thereof shall be punished as provided in section 1-8.
